I am an American freelance journalist and writer currently based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I report on just about everything under the sun (or the clouds, since I lived in northern Europe for many years) and have reported on topics ranging from business and economics to politics and human rights to arts and entertainment.
I am a graduate of the journalism program at the University of California, Berkeley, where I focused on radio. However, I am just as comfortable working for print and online publications. Recently, I was managing editor of a weekly economics magazine here in Cambodia. My radio work has aired on NPR and Marketplace in the US, Germany’s Deutsche Welle, and other stations.
My five years’ experience as a journalism trainer has taken me to countries as diverse as Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Belarus and Bhutan, among others, where I’ve conducted workshops in radio, online and print media.
